A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Hey Gang,
So I have to say I am so impressed with all of your work and so proud of all of you, well most of you ;)
As the first inaugural MoDesign class, and a work in progress, you guys have made me feel like a proud papa! I know all of you, well most of you (J/K), will make an awesome impact on whatever design path you choose and I am so blessed to have been a small part of that development.
Don't be strangers and good luck out there in the big world of creative minds. I hope you have enjoyed the last 16 weeks as much as I have-

Your humble servant in the arts-

ps.- If you haven't posted your finals- don't forget to do that ASAP!

Kelly and Marian's PSA Global Warming

Awesome piece ladies, thoughtful, designed well, paced well, texturally unique… just an all around well though-out and paced. Great piece, you should be proud… I am!
Try to fix the smoke one day :)

A Child's Right - Breehn Breanna Devin

Great job team, would have loved to see more flies around boy's head- 2-3 maybe. All in all an elegant piece that showcases your storytelling and timing prowess. Would still love to have some proportion changes during transitions of certain shots but the changes you created only helped :)
 Like Mr. Burns says… "Eggggssssellent"

Chains4Chains Revised Final 5/14/12

Hey Team!
The changes to the intro look beautiful, elegant and more integrated. Nice work- love the transition into the globe- great thought process here. I think the pause after the globe is about 36-48 frames too long though. I would also suggest to pay close attention to the size of the fonts used during the "key" animation sequence as it get's a little hard to read and moves a bit too fast (enlarge a bit maybe) Last but not least, hold on the "merchandise" at least 36 frames longer to let people see what it is that you are selling!
The piece is beautiful and I am very proud of what you three accomplished!!

Kristen and Logan Final - Water Conservation PSA

Love the work and the time invested. I know it isn't exactly what you had planned, but hopefully the learning curve will end up being a positive one and the piece holds a lot of merit in its current state. Good piece, is it great, not quite, but it definitely set the standard in technical achievement and you both had wonderful pieces throughout the semester ;) If you make some of those changes we discussed during the crit I think the merit is there for a principal piece for your reel that would truly turn heads.

Great job you two!

Kelsi Mathey's final: sundance intro

Oh the talking dudes- so funny!
Well, it looks like you didn't have a chance to make the changes we discussed but I do like a lot of what is happening in the work nonetheless. Is it demo worthy at its current state, probably not, but there is definitely the foundation for something that can be pushed and reworked to hash out a good quality broadcast worthy showpiece if you want :)
Your ideas are good, I think it is the lack of time investment here that is hurting the piece the most!
